About Me

Stephen Gleave is a Canadian employment lawyer with a love for all things outdoors. When not in a suit and tie, he spends time working his 100-acre farm.  The sprawling Ancaster property contains old Carolinian forests, several fruit orchards, Kentucky Coffee trees, and a grove of newly planted tulip trees that brighten the property with their colorful blooms.

While maintaining and growing the trees is certainly a lot of work, Stephen still finds time to maintain several beehives and to raise Scottish Highland cattle – a shaggy bovine known for their docile temperament.

He also likes to fly fish for bass, trout, and muskie on the Saugeen River.  In addition to all of that, Stephen is a competitive runner. He runs the equivalent of 1.5 marathons a week.

Over the course of Stephen’s legal career he has (so far) completed hundreds of labour and commercial arbitrations, 50 labour and civil injunctions, and 50 trials.

He has been added to the Best Lawyers in Canada guide, Best Lawyers Global Business list, and Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory for being an expert in Labour and Employment.

Now, this outdoorsy lawyer who has won awards for his professional work as a labor attorney, is starting a blog. He will use this forum to write about his passion for farming, running, fly fishing, Scottish Highland cattle, and more.
